I am having some issues with the outer selvedge thread on the block damask project. I usually use a floating selvedge on my other CB loom while weaving twill projects.I am weaving this project on my 8 shaft Standard Horizontal CM Glimakra loom, following the pattern provided in the video. I don't have a broken warp thread and I am using a temple. The outside selvedge is not being caught with every shuttle throw and is particularly noticeable on the larger Block A part of the pattern. I would appreciate any suggestions that might help correct this issue. Thank you.
Hello Judy,
Since a 3/1 twill only binds each thread once out of four shuttle throws, it is natural for the selvedge thread to do the same. You actually only want the selvedge thread to bind every other time which it probably is doing. It would not be within the parameters of the structure for it to bind on the edge thread each time, so carry on, I expect everything is weaving as it should.
Thank you Becky. Everything else is weaving beautifully so I will carry on. Your videos are fabulous and I look forward to learning from you during my week visit in September.
Good news Judy!
