Palmgren Project #3: Halvdräll squares and fabric
These pleasing little squares in a checkerboard pattern give you the opportunity to learn about a less common weave structure that is seen more often in Sweden than in the United States. Halvdräll, sometimes called “poor man’s damask,” is a lovely structure to use if one has only 4 shafts and loves those beautiful 2-block damask patterns. There are two methods for threading this structure, both discussed here in detail.
