This upholstery caught my eye years ago, and I have seen it in several historic applications in Sweden for chair covers and the like. The unusual arrangement of this structure causes the black outline to create connected ovals in a beautiful way, which we go over in detail during our drafting/theory session in this video. This fabric also presents a beautiful design aesthetic in the coloration of the warp and weft, in addition to one extra shed created by pulling three shafts down instead of just two for the purple polka-dots.
